Frequently Asked Questions

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding and support to people with permanent and significant disabilities across Australia. Aplus Disability is a registered NDIS provider. The NDIS is a government-funded scheme that we help deliver across Victoria. It is a lifetime scheme that allows for eligible applicants to live independently with the assistance of our providers, to help you set a plan and ensure your needs and goals are met.

As a government-funded program, you will receive yearly funding to assist you in your independent living. Aplus Disability can help you create a plan for these funds, such as purchasing assistive aids and services and undergoing treatment, or alternatively you can self-manage your funds by making claims directly to NDIS or the NDIA which is the service agency established to administer the NDIS. Eligible NDIS participants will be able to apply for adjustment of their annual funding, in which Aplus can assist with your application.

You can check your eligibility by accessing My Access Checker to ascertain if you qualify for NDIS support.

Aplus Disability offers a host of services as a registered NDIS provider. Those services include;

  • Becoming more independent
  • Transition from school to employment
  • Moving out of home or setting up your own home
  • Accessing allied health services
  • Learning new skills
  • Strengthening relationships with family, friends and others
  • Being a part of your community
  • Gain work experience and employment
  • In-home aids to support at-home living

Your NDIS program does not cover:

  • Income replacement
  • Daily expenses (groceries, bills)
  • Living costs (Rent, Mortgage)
  • Anything likely to cause harm to a participant or pose a risk to others.
  • Anything else non-related to your disability

There are no specific amounts to which an eligible participant can access. Each person’s funding is judged on a case-by-case basis, catered to their individual needs. The NDIS provides a personalised and highly-tailored approach, ensuring that your needs are met as per the NDIS’  ‘reasonable and necessary’ requirements. It is important to note that it is not about the amount of money, but about the support required to achieve your goals.

As a registered NDIS provider, we can assist you with any of the following;

  • Independent living and in-home care
  • Accommodation services and supports
  • Assistance with household management duties
  • Sporting activities, hobbies and interests
  • Personal care and skill building
  • Increasing independence and community participation
  • Education, training, and employment
  • Clinical support for improved health outcomes
  • And a whole lot more
